I think that this quote means that the more smart and abedient we are the more time we have to be free. also its like saying if we are nice and if we do our chores our parents would let us do more stuff that we want. also they would have more trust in us ! they would also grant us more things like going out to wherever we want ! this also goes for teachers, and other adults. also the more you follow the rules the easier your life will be !
